A Recent note from a veterinarian regarding Metacam.
Hi Dave I’m a small animal veterinarian in Arizona and I personally know of three cases where cats died as a result of metacam use. I NEVER use metacam in cats, and warn all my clients about it. When I dispense it for dogs, I ALWAYS put a warning label on the bottle, “NOT FOR USE IN CATS.”
You’re welcome to contact me if you wish;
Metacam is deadly in cats and I am not afraid to tell people this. Thanks!

Dealing with Adverse Reactions to Metacam
If you believe your cat has developed renal failure as a result of using Metacam, you should report this to the manufacturer.
